A new study has revealed that eating broccoli sprouts is good for your stomach. [1]
Broccoli contains sulforaphane which acts as an antibiotic against the H. pylori bacteria. This particular bacteria has been linked to stomach ulcers and cancer.
The sprouts won’t totally kill the bacteria but they will help control it. Also bear in mind that eating broccoli sprouts won’t actually make any difference to your chance of getting stomach cancer, if you are high risk. However, it’s still a great natural alterative to controlling stomach ulcers.
Growing Sprouts Indoors
Growing sprouts at home is a great way to get crisp fresh sprouts and to save money at the same time. Also, if you live in a flat or an apartment, growing sprouts indoors is the only alternative to a vegetable garden. To find out more about growing sprouts indoors check out Ann Wigmore’s book “The Sprouting Book”. It should get you started.
