You probably already know green tea is healthy. White tea is even better.
Obesity-related disorders such as diabetes and cardiovascular disease are becoming major problems in the industrialized world and also growing problems in developing countries, especially as people adopt more western diets.
A recent study published in “Nutrition & Metabolism” has shown that white tea may offer some benefit in combating obesity – in both breaking down and reducing existing fat cells as well as in decreasing the growth of new fat cells.
White tea is the least processed of all teas. White tea, green tea, and black tea come from the Camellia sinensis plant. Unlike black teas, white teas and green teas are uncured and un-oxidized. White teas often contains the younger tea leaves and buds . White tea caffeine levels are especially lower when compared to other teas.
If you are already a black tea drinker we recommend you switch and buy white tea bags instead for the fat reducing benefits. We discussed earlier how drinking more water can keep you more alert and less sleepy. Since white tea is low in caffeine, why not keep a thermos of brewed white tea at your desk to drink during the day. It’s a nice way to break up the day.
