How To Get To Sleep Fast and Naturally

I have tried lots of ways to get to sleep but none of the tips I found online worked for me. They work for the simple cases of insomnia but not for the “mind racing” situations where you must get to sleep for some important event the next day. You know, the chronic kind of insomnia that escalates into worrying about not getting to sleep.

The most difficult times to get to sleep it seems are when there is some unresolved problem or some event the next day that you don’t feel that confident about.

Affirmations By Louise L HayIn these situations I have found that the Affirmations audio CD from Louise L. Hay works the best. Go to bed as per normal and play the affirmation side of the CD, not the subliminal music side. I find the music side not that relaxing and to be honest it’s a bit cheesy. I recommend ripping the CD to an Ipod and setting on auto repeat all night. A extra side benefit of listening to the affirmations all night is that you will wake up the next morning with a more positive mental outlook on life.

You may find the affirmations very childish but this is why it works so well as the subconscious mind responds best to these simple child like messages. You will need to listen to it for at least 30 days before you notice a permanent change without need for the CD.

As an upgrade, after 30 days I recommend trying an ancient meditation technique as taught by Dr Wayne Dywer from his “Meditations For Manifesting – Morning and Evening” meditations CD. The title sounds a bit cheesy but the om and ha meditations have been used by ancient peoples for thousands of years and are very effective.

You perform the om meditation at night before you sleep. I am convinced the the vibration of the om sound throughout the body is the reason why this works so well. It’s very calming. Just play the evening CD before you go to sleep and say the meditations out aloud with Dr Dywer. You should have no trouble in getting to sleep at the end. There is no need to set the CD to auto repeat.

If you find that either of these techniques don’t work for you I would be very surprised. Let us know how you go?
